After being in policing for over 30 years Alex McNeil retires, to help supplement his pension he starts driving a garbage bin truck in one of the roughest area of Bisson City.  Alex just wants a stress free job working the midnight shift. At sixty years of age, he thought that he had left the police world behind him.    When Sally, a prostitute known to Alex, is brutally sexually assaulted and murdered  he is reluctantly dragged into the murder investigation.    Alex had been an old school hard nose stubborn homicide cop with a reputation of bringing justice to  victims and their families.  He renews his friendship with former police partner Inspector Stephanie Foster who is the lead homicide investigator assigned to solve a string of prostitute murders. At times Alex struggles with his friendship and relationship with Stephanie while trying to help her catch a serial killer.
