The Trappers of Arkansas: Or The Loyal Heart is a historical fiction novel written by Gustave Aimard and originally published in 1864. The story is set in the early 19th century and follows the adventures of a group of trappers in the American wilderness of Arkansas. The main character, a French trapper named Henri, is driven by a strong sense of loyalty and honor, which leads him to help a group of American settlers who are being threatened by a band of Native Americans. Along the way, Henri faces many challenges and dangers, including battles with the Native Americans, encounters with wild animals, and treacherous weather conditions. The novel is known for its vivid descriptions of the American wilderness and its portrayal of the rugged and independent spirit of the trappers who lived there. It is a thrilling adventure story that also explores themes of courage, loyalty, and the clash of cultures in the American frontier. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
