Leslie LaRue Rye, a writer, and as an excellent researcher, becomes entangled in a mystery brought on by Jeffrey Bordeaux, fiancé of her close friend and prominent New Orleans attorney, Annabelle Robicheaux. He wants Leslie to research the background of a contractor his sister has hired. Sidney unknowingly puts their young son Ryan in danger when he shares information in answer to his son’s questions. Annabelle’s wedding plans that include Leslie and Sidney, are delayed when one of Jeffrey’s younger sisters disappears with a man of interest in the jewelry thief ring. This story leads to the inner circle of Cajuns living in small communities and on bayous in Louisiana. Leslie’s faith in God is tested as her research suddenly takes her to a past long forgotten.       3
