'The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him, to show unto His servants things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John-who bore record of the Word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he who reads, and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein-for the time is at hand!'-Revelation 1:1-3.The TITLE of this last and most wondrous of inspired books is ’the revelation (uncovering, unveiling) of Jesus Christ’. It is He who 'unveils,' and it is He who is here unveiled to us, and who shines out with transfiguration-brightness before the Church’s eye. The spirit and sum of this book is ’testimony to Jesus’ (ch. 19:10). He is its Alpha and its Omega. We find Him everywhere-in description, in song, in symbol, in prediction; in things past, present, and to come. Here Christ is all and in all. This last book completes the 'unveiling' which was begun in the Gospels and carried on through the Epistles. The last fragment of the veil is here taken from His face. We see Him as He is, on the Father’s right hand, on the throne, through the rent veil. The heavens are opened, and we see Him (as Stephen did) in His present glory and in the glory of His second coming. 3

I am sharing my story praying that it helps someone else to Trust God more, listen for God more, Seek God More, and most of all Obey what God says! This book is a witness that God can use anyone in any position to be a help to another person. The person you are counting out could very well be the one chosen to help get you to yo...

We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: "It is good." But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. In this heart-tugging monograph, Dr. Davis McGuirt draws from both his training in theology and the personal agony of watching his father die from cancer to provide a variety of biblical reasons for why we get sick. We are also remin...

Our right to go to the Lord full and clear. It is irrespective of anything in us. It presupposes need and sin and struggles; nothing more. The invitation is wide and free. The morning! That is our watchword. Our evening prayers and songs are filled with hope. The morning adds hue to life, imparting color to that which is colorless, and freshening that which is faded. Your life is a book; it may be a bigger or smaller volume, but conversion is only the title page or the preface. The book itself remains to be...

  • The Rent Veil
    Horatius Bonar
Published in 1875, Rent Veil was written by Scottish theologian and poet Horatius Bonar. Bonar's Rent Veil treats a variety of topics, most directly the atonement. The title refers to Christ and Christ's body. Bonar claims that without the broken ("rent") body of Christ, there would still be a barrier ("veil") between us and God. With Christ's death, there is the po...
