The Price of Freedom: Or In the Grip of Hate is a novel written by Arthur Williams Marchmont and published in 1903. The story takes place in the late 19th century and follows the life of a young man named Cyril who is born into a wealthy family. However, Cyril’s life takes a dramatic turn when he falls in love with a woman from a lower social class, and his family disapproves of the relationship. As Cyril tries to navigate his way through his family’s disapproval and societal expectations, he becomes involved in a political movement that seeks to overthrow the government. The movement is fueled by a deep-seated hatred for the ruling class and their perceived injustices. As Cyril becomes more deeply involved in the movement, he begins to question his own beliefs and the actions of his fellow revolutionaries. He comes to realize that the price of freedom may be too high, and that hate can be a destructive force that ultimately leads to tragedy. The Price of Freedom: Or In the Grip of Hate is a thought-provoking novel that explores themes of love, social class, politics, and the consequences of hate. It is a timeless work that continues to be relevant in today’s world. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
