This study explored and described the music industry in Czech Republic and Slovakia, mostly the new business models in the industry and marketing strategies of digital music services. The study’s goals were: 1) to find out how is the music industry in the territory responding to the Internet age, 2) to determine the actual digital music services available in the territory, and 3) to find out how successful the actual digital music services are and determine what factors make them successful and what could be changes in terms of marketing strategies. During the actual research, several digital music services were identified, and also the absence of the most successful digital music services. Unfortunately, none of the domestic music service was described as successful, and the findings from the actual cases have shown a similarity to the findings from the reviewed literature from the early 2000s.
