Perseverance, family, and God guided a family through one hundred years of American history when America was finding its way. The story begins in 1850 England and follows an incredible journey out of poverty and into Civil War, frontier life, and the development of pioneers. So many things happened to this family guided by God as they developed a life on the Kansas prairie and helped settle a community. All things have a beginning and an end. The Last Buffalo in Kansas begins with hope as George Washington Willis collects all he owns and steps off a packet ship onto the docks of New York in 1853. He is seventeen years old and has a dream to own a large farm. He has come to America with nothing except a will to succeed. He was educated by God and found a lifeline of adventure that created one of the largest family farms on the Kansas prairie. His legacy was carried on by his son who created a farm like no other. It is a story about people that believed in God and helped make America the great country that we all know.
