Mindaralew has plumbed the depths of puzzling layers surrounding cultural riddles that are associated with the month of May. It is a month in which people altogether drop some of their major social practices, ceremonies, political and economic activities and attitudes and get engaged in a new category of practices only as long as the very month lasts. Once the month of May is gone so are the sanctions imposed on the said major activities. The author, Mindaralew, probed into the mound of these cultural brain-teasers in a bid to bring them to the attention of the wider readership . He lucidly argued to show whether these widely practiced changes of behavior remain, as it appears at first sight, a cultural manifestations of an irrational, illogical facades of the people; or have something inherently rational, intelligible, and logical which lies underneath the mosaic of cultural settings of the people.
