Climatology is described as the study of climate. It has acquired a much greater position than being considered an individual discipline which treats climate as a phenomenon that fluctuates only within specific boundaries defined by historical statistics. It has been observed that climate alters constantly under the influence of biological as well as physical forces. Therefore, climate cannot be studied in isolation. Rather, climatology requires inputs from diverse scientific disciplines that play their role in comprehending the extremely complicated system of Earth’s climate. The current state of climatology has been described in this book. While it provides a wide perspective on climatology, it also acknowledges the regional standpoint which affects people’s requirements from climatology. Aspects on the topic of climate change have also been described. It is widely evident these days that current work in climatology has unveiled discoveries which carry profound implications for social and economic policy. Keeping this in mind, the topics covered in this book provide acumens on the applications of various techniques learnt till date.
