The Cinelli Vases Thornton falls in love, not with one, but with two ravishing beauties, a pair of Chinese vases! Unfortunately they can never be his as they are already spoken for, being the property of an Italian noblewoman, the Countess Cinelli. Fate however (in the shape of Miss Holly Day) takes a hand in bringing Thornton and the Countess together as she needs someone to recover a precious article from a Swiss bank. In accepting the job Thornton never realises what he has let himself in for until he comes face to face with others who are all desperate to lay hands on 'it' - American gangsters, the Italian Mafia, the KGB, Japanese Yakusa and Chinese Triads one and all after the same thing and prepared to do anything to get it.
