An orc shaman summons what should not exist. The lords of Fallgar forge alliances of calculation and forbidden magic. In Astinhod, court and council turn against one another in a struggle for power and survival. At the same time, a small band of former companions gathers again. They seek the seven lost artifacts - and the truth behind what moves beyond the visible world. The Companions: Gorathdin - a half-elf burdened by his past. Vrenli - keeper of forgotten knowledge. Werlis - one-armed, sharp-tongued, loyal. Aarl - a warrior from Thir, scarred but unbroken. Borlix - a dwarven paladin devoted to truth. Thorgar - a northern warden bound by oath and blood. Master Drobal - the last great mage of Horunguth, his strength fading. They are not the only ones searching. Its world is shaped by history and consequence. Its enemy cannot be defeated by steel alone.Part of The Chronicles of Wetherid, this volume stands on its own and deepens the foundations laid in The Legacy of the Elves. For readers who value high fantasy not for spectacle, but for weight, memory, and cost.
