La edición del Teatro Completo de Virgilio Piñera fue publicada en Cuba por Rine Leal en 2002 y contiene en su índice un total de 20 títulos, algunos de los cuales nunca fueron publicados con anterioridad ni tampoco representados. Esta edición que hoy presentamos es la primera Antología de su Teatro publicada en España y viene a llenar un vacío editorial de décadas. Se trata de una nómina de siete títulos (Electra Garrigó, Jesús, Falsa alarma, Aire frío, El no, Dos viejos pánicos y Una caja de zapatos vacía) que, sin duda, son altamente representativos de toda su obra dramática. Su lectura confirma la idea de que Virgilio Piñera contiene las claves del teatro cubano.
