Continuing education in nursing is essential in the daily work of nurses. Professional training and qualification remain active throughout their professional careers and yield substantial results in terms of personal development and nursing care provision. In this production, we discuss the socio-historical values that permeate the development of continuing education programmes in nursing, their implementation in the hospital environment and the participation of managers, programme coordinators and nursing assistants at all levels of care, as well as the reflection of this experience in the qualification and return of a care product to patients.
