Badanie zostało przeprowadzone wśród kobiet mieszkających na obszarach wiejskich w miejscowości Katieno West w hrabstwie Kisumu w Kenii. Celem badania było: zidentyfikowanie możliwości dostępnych dla kobiet w zakresie gruntów, w tym dostępu, użytkowania, kontroli i własności, wynikających z uchwalenia nowych przepisów dotyczących gruntów; zbadanie wyzwań, które utrudniają kenijskim kobietom, zwłaszcza mieszkającym na obszarach wiejskich, korzystanie z tych możliwości; oraz sformułowanie zaleceń dla decydentów politycznych i organów wykonawczych, które pozwolą kobietom zarówno na obszarach wiejskich, jak i miejskich korzystać z przysługujących im praw do gruntów.
