È stata sviluppata una composizione di vetro borosilicato drogato con fluoruro di sodio e silicio più raffinata, priva di semi, bolle e cordoni. L’aggiunta del composto fluorurato ha accelerato la fusione del vetro, ma ha ridotto la viscosità e la tensione superficiale. Sono state apportate numerose variazioni alla composizione standard del vetro borosilicato (7740) per sviluppare una nuova composizione che fosse fusa in base alle condizioni economicamente disponibili. Il forno elettrico con sistema di agitazione era molto costoso, il che non era fattibile per il Pakistan per sviluppare un vetro così costoso. Pertanto, per la fusione di questi vetri è stato utilizzato un forno a gas senza sistema di agitazione a temperatura relativamente più bassa invece del forno elettrico. Questo vetro è stato sviluppato per la prima volta in Pakistan su scala di laboratorio con le risorse e le strutture disponibili nel nostro Paese.
