Utilization ofsolar energy, energy conservation measures and theuse of efficient and alternative fuel vehicles by thecommercial/industrial and private sectors will becrucial in meeting targets. The utility company willbe charged with developing large scale renewableenergy applications and with improving efficiency ofthe electrical system. This document, althoughdeveloped for St. Vincent and the Grenadines, couldbe used by other small island economies as the basisfor developing renewable energy.
