Mevcut sorunların çözülebilmesi ve ortadan kaldırılabilmesi için kentsel dönüşüm uygulamasının bütüncül ve çok paydaşlı olarak gerçekleşmesi gerekmektedir. Sürdürülebilirlik temelli kentsel dönüşüm uygulamalarında çok paydaşlı yaklaşımların ve dönüşümden doğrudan etkilenecek olan yerel halkın ana paydaş olarak görülerek sürece dahil edilmeleri sürdürülebilirlik ilkeleri açısından önem arz etmektedir.
