Jose Conrado Rodriguez Alegre was born in June of 1951 in the city of San Luis, Oriente, Cuba. From a young age, as he explains in this book, he found the priesthood to be his vocation, entering the seminary in 1964. Between the cities of Santiago, El Cobre and Havana (in the seminary of San Carlos and San Ambrosio) he finishes his studies and was ordained a priest by his Bishop, Monsignor Pedro Meurice, on June 5, 1976. His work «40 años de sacerdote en la Cuba de los Castro» ('40 years of priesthood in Castros’s Cuba') reveals his life, his effort to evangelize, his apostolic zeal, rebelliousness, and expulsions. This book shows the life and soul of a priest who knows how to laugh and communicate to all he knows his love for Jesus and Mary, a love he feels with powerful fidelity, despite the criticism and the difficulties he has suffered and still suffers. In this book, SUEÑOS Y PESADILLAS DE UN CURA EN CUBA (DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES OF A PRIEST IN CUBA) we are going to enter and understand the authoŕs life through articles and interviews. We are going to follow him in a deep reflection on the Cuban Church through works he has written on the subject. His life centered in Christ, as well as his love for Cuba and the Church. Always caring for those most in need, but never forgetting all his other brothers. He has not been afraid to expose the truth, and say these truths without putting on masks. He has studied them in great depth and will astonish the reader with the seriousness of the research and readings that help him in this important task.Gather around readers and discover the Cuban reality and that of Her Church in that island of found destinations, and which seems to have no hopes, of which has disappeared any hearsay... But that is still struggling to live the faith thanks to apostolic priests like as the Father José Conrado.
