The fluidity of these Massachusetts’ towns as depicted in this compilation of libraries, antiquarians, historical societies, museums and arts is a reflection. Documentation; in prints, written in journals, drawings, painted or such medias-a canon, opus of who they were. This is what histories are made of -an account, that hap-stance in the genre sought out on the shelves of the many libraries in the world. Yet, it is some of the members of any given community that dictate what’s to be housed at places where records are kept.
