In questo studio abbiamo analizzato le proprietà fisiche strutturali, elettroniche, ottiche, elastiche, meccaniche, termodinamiche e termoelettriche di perovskiti ecologiche senza piombo CsSnX3 (X = Cl, Br) utilizzando il metodo FP-LAPW con le approssimazioni GGA e GGA + mBJ. I composti studiati presentano caratteristiche di semiconduttori a bandgap diretto con miscelazione iono-covalente nei legami CsSnX3. In particolare, mostrano un eccezionale assorbimento della luce e una conduttività ottica che li rende adatti a un’applicazione specifica. Sono state determinate per la prima volta le costanti elastiche dei composti e i vari moduli. I calcoli delle proprietà di trasporto rivelano un elevato coefficiente di merito, che si avvicina all’unità a temperatura ambiente. I materiali di perovskite senza piombo basati sull’alogenuro CsSnX3 (Cl, Br) hanno un grande potenziale per le applicazioni optoelettroniche e termoelettriche, grazie alle loro notevoli proprietà fisiche e alla loro natura ecologica. Ciò li rende molto interessanti per le applicazioni industriali.
