Feuchtgebietsökosysteme gehören zu den produktivsten Ökosystemen der Biosphäre. Feuchtgebiete erhalten Oberflächenwassereinträge aus Bächen (Oberflächenabfluss), Niederschlägen und Überlandabflüssen sowie unterirdische Wassereinträge durch Oberflächeninfiltration. Biodiversität bezieht sich auf die Variabilität unter lebenden Organismen aus allen Quellen, einschließlich u. a. terrestrischer, Süßwasser- und mariner aquatischer Ökosysteme und der ökologischen Komplexe, zu denen sie gehören. Hosetti bezeichnete sie als die Bibliothek des Lebens, d. h. die Vielfalt aller Gene, Arten von Mikroorganismen, Pflanzen, Tieren und Ökosystemen, die auf unserem Planeten vorkommen. Das Phytoplankton hat unterschiedliche physikalische und chemische Voraussetzungen für das Wachstum der Population. Kieselalgen unterscheiden sich erheblich in Bezug auf Motilität, Zellwandzusammensetzung und -ornamentik sowie Ernährungs- und Fortpflanzungsstrategien. In der vorliegenden Studie untersuchen wir die Beziehung zwischen der Chlorophyllkonzentration und ihrem Einfluss auf die mikrobielle Vielfalt mit physikalisch-chemischen Parametern. Sodav Bandharan ist ein temporäres Feuchtgebiet in der Nähe des Dorfes Vellan, Kodinar.
