In diesem Buch wurden acht Bohrungen anhand von zusammengesetzten Bohrlochprotokollen und seismischen Schnitten interpretiert, um die Stratigraphie des Offshore-Nildeltas in Ägypten zu verstehen. Lithostratigraphische Studien halfen bei der Erkennung der miozän-pliozänen Gesteinsschichten (von unten nach oben): Sidi Salim Formation, Rosetta Formation, Abu Madi Formation, Kafr El Sheikh Formation, El Wastani Formation und Mit Ghamr/Bilqas Formation (Meeresboden). In der vorliegenden Studie sollen daher die Stratigraphie des nordwestlichen Nildeltas und die Kohlenwasserstoffvorkommen im Untersuchungsgebiet eingehend untersucht werden. Zu diesem Zweck wurde eine stratigraphische Analyse der aufgezeichneten Formationen im nordwestlichen Teil des Nildeltagebietes durchgeführt, um die Rolle des Gasschornsteins und der damit verbundenen Strukturen als bevorzugte Kohlenwasserstoff-Migrationswege vom vormessinischen Küchenabschnitt zu den plio-pleistozänen Reservoiren zu verstehen.
