Ce livre est donc conçu pour explorer comment les stratégies de marketing peuvent améliorer la qualité des services fournis et comment les utilisateurs de la bibliothèque peuvent être conscients des différents services offerts par la bibliothèque grâce à l’utilisation de stratégies de marketing. Il est donc nécessaire que les bibliothèques et les bibliothécaires se repositionnent pour mener des activités de marketing appropriées qui permettront de fournir des services efficaces avec des ressources adéquates. La population cible est constituée des utilisateurs de la bibliothèque, des chercheurs et d’autres utilisateurs potentiels. Les bibliothécaires doivent être actifs.
