On your first read these haiku are enjoyable. There are elements of history and our experiences during this time together going through this pandemic, specifically the lockdowns and other social measures encountered. Common phrases and terms developed by our community are played with in a way that is both fun and serious. Like all good haiku the second read may reveal more images and meaning. The haiku were carefully chosen to stay focused on journaling this specific period in our history. There are a few selected that were written before the pandemic that try to highlight some concept of stillness. This was done because one of the results of this year of social distancing is that stillness has been locked down and magnified. It has been looked at more closely than we ever could if it were not for Covid 19.This book is part of an unnumbered series called 'Bootleg Still'.
