Im Jahr 2013 kam es in Geetanagar VDC auf schockierende Weise zu einem Konflikt zwischen Mensch und Tiger. Der Konflikt nahm ein solches Ausmaß an, dass die Einheimischen das Gefühl hatten, die Tötung des Tigers würde sich rächen, da sie menschliche Opfer und Verletzungen hinnehmen mussten. Daher wurde diese Studie mit der Absicht durchgeführt, den Mensch-Tiger-Konflikt, seine Fälle, Ursachen, durchgeführte Maßnahmen und den Status der Tigerpopulationsverteilung sowie die Wahrnehmung der Menschen in Bezug auf Tiger zu untersuchen. Diese Studie gibt Aufschluss über die Wahrnehmung des Tigerschutzes und das Toleranzniveau der Einheimischen gegenüber menschlichen Verlusten sowie über die Rolle der Interessengruppen beim Tigerschutz.
