The Heart of Dinara) is a vivid story collection where the borders between the real and the marvelous grow thin. Boris Misic animates mountains, rivers, and beasts alongside human protagonists, letting the Dinaric landscape speak with its own ancient will. Folk belief and contemporary life meet on the same page: a shepherd argues with the wind, a river keeps a memory, a traveler hears the stone reply. Misic’s language is clear and tactile; his imagination, generous. Readers who love the mythic shimmer of the everyday-à la Marquez or Tokarczuk-will find much to savor in these tales from the Balkan highlands. This Globland edition introduces a distinctive new voice in Serbian short fiction.
