Originally published in the early 1900s. The author was a well known sportsman whose love of hunting otter, fox, hare, and deer in the North of England was legendary. This well illustrated book contains much anecdote and information on hunting and shooting in the Fell country. Chapters include: Fox Hunting on Foot - Otter Hunting on the Becks - Grouse Shooting on the Fells - Trout Fishing on Beck and Tarn - Deer Stalking - Hare Hunting with Beagles - Tracks and Tracking - With Telescope and Camera - The Miniature Rifle for Sport. Etc. Many of the earliest field sports books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.
