SOINS DE SANTE APRES GREFFE APRES GREFFE DE REIN Il est désormais bien établi qu’une transplantation rénale précoce est associée à des résultats optimaux en termes de survie du patient et du greffon. Chez les patients atteints d’insuffisance rénale chronique (IRC) - Stade V, la transplantation rénale est considérée comme le traitement de choix car la survie et la qualité de vie sont souvent meilleures que chez les personnes traitées par dialyse. Après une transplantation rénale, les patients reçoivent une combinaison de médicaments immunosuppresseurs pour prévenir le rejet du rein greffé. De nouveaux schémas thérapeutiques immunosuppresseurs ont permis d’améliorer les résultats des transplantations rénales au cours des deux dernières décennies. Ces schémas thérapeutiques contiennent généralement un inhibiteur de la calcineurine (CNI) (tacrolimus ou cyclosporine), des stéroïdes ainsi qu’un agent antiprolifératif, le mycophénolate mofétil (MMF). L’introduction de l’azathioprine en tant qu’immunosuppresseur oral efficace à la fin des années 1950 a permis d’obtenir les premiers survivants à long terme de greffes entre individus génétiquement non identiques (allogreffes). Ce médicament agit en inhibant la synthèse des purines.
