This paper focuses on the socio-environmental impacts caused by motocross in the municipality of São Francisco de Paula, Rio Grande do Sul (RS). The development of this sport requires nature, since it exploits natural resources such as streams, trails, forests, hills, among others. However, in some cases, there are numerous impacts following the passage of the motorcycles, such as fuel leaks into water resources, soil compaction, the opening of furrows in the trails and even invasions of private properties.
