This book examines, on the one hand, how the relationship between the government and the social partners in the field of social policy has been shaped since the change of government in 2006 and, on the other hand, how the participation of the Social Democratic Party of Austria has affected employee-oriented interest groups. The research was supported by guided interviews with experts from organisations representing the social partners. The study demonstrated that, since the change of government in 2006, social partnership has once again exerted greater influence on (social) political developments in Austria. This can certainly be partly attributed to the fact that an increasing number of officials from the umbrella organisations are involved in parliamentary work. The activities of trade unions and the Chamber of Labour are also positively influenced by this form of government.
