Este livro analisa, por um lado, a forma como a relação entre o Governo e os parceiros sociais no domínio da política social tem vindo a ser moldada desde a mudança de Governo em 2006 e, por outro lado, o impacto da participação do Partido Social-Democrata da Áustria nas associações de defesa dos interesses dos trabalhadores. O trabalho de investigação foi apoiado por entrevistas orientadas por um guia com especialistas das organizações que integram a parceria social. O estudo demonstrou que, desde a mudança de governo em 2006, a parceria social voltou a exercer uma influência crescente nos acontecimentos (sociopolíticos) na Áustria. Isto pode, em grande parte, ser explicado pelo facto de um número crescente de dirigentes das federações de organizações sindicais participar no trabalho parlamentar. Também a atividade dos sindicatos e da Câmara dos Trabalhadores é influenciada positivamente por esta forma de governo.
