Tijdsdomein signalen worden verzameld voor versleten voorgestelde coating gevallen.Kurtosis waarden geëxtraheerd uit IMFs van EMD tool onthulde betere diagnostische feiten in vergelijking met die van onbewerkte signalen. Tribologische studies worden ook uitgevoerd om het slijtage- en wrijvingsgedrag van coatings te observeren, gevolgd door de morfologie en EDS-analyse.
