Przez wiele lat stosowana ręczna metoda oceny raportów nie była odpowiednia, ponieważ wiązała się z niezliczonymi problemami, takimi jak marnowanie czasu, niedokładność, brak bazy danych i wysokie koszty. Z tymi niedoskonałościami wiąże się potrzeba stworzenia alternatywnej metody oceny raportów, a istnieje bardzo niewiele literatury akademickiej na temat tego, jak najlepiej oceniać raporty. Teoretyczną podstawą pracy jest Model Akceptacji Technologii (TAM), a do pracy przyjęto metodę Strukturalnej Analizy Systemu. Językiem programowania jest Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0. Metoda e-oceny rzuca nieco światła na sposób wykorzystania oprogramowania do oceny raportów, generowania bazy danych i monitorowania przesyłania raportów. Książka ta jest szczególnie przydatna dla profesjonalistów z branży ICT, domów mediowych, organów religijnych, organizacji międzynarodowych, rządów, decydentów, badaczy i innych organizacji, które regularnie otrzymują raporty z różnych lokalizacji.
