Badanie zostało podzielone na dwa etapy. W etapie I celem było znalezienie skuteczności strategii płynów obróbkowych (MF) dla zrównoważonego toczenia stopu aluminium lotniczego. Stop został obrobiony przy użyciu powlekanych płytek z węglików spiekanych przy użyciu różnych przyjaznych dla środowiska strategii płynów obróbkowych (MF), a mianowicie obróbki na sucho, rurki wirowej Ranque’a-Hilscha (RHVT), smarowania minimalną ilością (MQL) i sprężonego powietrza. Technologie te zostały zbadane podczas toczenia z próbą zbadania chropowatości powierzchni i zużycia narzędzia. Wyniki badań zostały zweryfikowane poprzez zbadanie próbek chropowatości powierzchni i zużycia narzędzia za pomocą skaningowej mikroskopii elektronowej (SEM).
