This interesting work contains brief biographical and genealogical sketches on a hundred or more Lynchburg families known to the author. It primarily concerns people who were born in the period from about 1750 through the early 1800s. The data given varies widely, but frequently gives the origins of people who came to Lynchburg from elsewhere, and much data is given on the ancestry of wives. This work provides much 'soft' data on personal interests and personality traits which is seldom found in public records.
