Trata-se de uma combinação de dois estudos empíricos sobre estereótipos sexuais e de género na publicidade: uma análise de conteúdo de anúncios televisivos seleccionados na Nigéria e Objectificação das mulheres e temas de 'largueza sexual' na indústria musical hip-hop nigeriana. Estes autores analisaram o conteúdo de vários vídeos musicais e anúncios televisivos em que as representações das mulheres foram interpretadas de várias formas, utilizando a teoria dos papéis de género e a perspetiva feminista. Foram discutidos os significados ocultos destas representações e as suas implicações para a igualdade de género.
