Über Mißbrauch und sexuelle Gewalt wird oft unsachlich diskutiert, weil die Ergebnisse der empirischen und theoretischen Forschung noch zu wenig berücksichtigt werden. Diesem Mangel versucht diese Arbeit abzuhelfen. Gestützt auf die angelsächsische Forschung entwickelt der Autor einen sozialisationstheoretischen Deutungsansatz, der aus der Sackgasse polarisierender Schuldzuweisungen hinausführt. Sexuelle Gewalt hat ihren Ursprung in der geschlechtsspezifischen Sozialisation und Erziehung und wird sich letztlich nur in dem Maß auflösen lassen, wie sich, pointiert formuliert, Männer an der primären Erziehung beteiligen.
