¿De dónde venimos? Cuatro pequeñas, grandes historias, tan simples e intrincadas, como los cuatro rumbos del universo mesoamericano conquistado, la Nueva España, hoy México,conforman este relato líquido. En él, nuestros antepasados -esclavos negros, aventureros españoles, indígenas locales y un sanador del Celeste Imperio de los Ming- tejerán el entramado que conformará la identidad novohispana del territorio que hoy llamamos México. Acompañados de fuertes personalidades que tangencialmente cruzarán sus caminos, “Ser de Agua” intenta sujetar sus andanzas, anhelos y desventuras, que confluyen en la Gran Inundación de 1629. Los rizos y olas de este remolino alterarán sus vidas y, al ser parte del pasado, las nuestras, también. Ahí establecerán un nuevo orden que luchará contra la memoria de lo que una vez fue, hasta reconciliarse plenamente con ella y consigo mismos. El XVII, el siglo en el que se irritó Dios y oprimió con sus aguas al mundo conquistado, sumergirá sus destinos en una travesía que surca océanos y continentes, hasta alcanzar la paz, de cara a un futuro que ninguno imaginó.
