Die robuste Extraktion von Merkmalen in einem stark unscharfen Bild ist das grundlegende Problem eines Autofokussystems mit Phasendifferenz. Um dieses Problem zu lösen, wird ein Algorithmus zur Merkmalserkennung mit mehreren Auflösungen vorgeschlagen. Anhand der extrahierten Merkmale kann das vorgeschlagene Autofokussystem mithilfe der Phasenkorrelationsabgleichung die ideale Fokussierposition ermitteln. Da das vorgeschlagene System die Phasendifferenz in dem unscharfen, verschwommenen Bild bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen genau schätzt, kann es einen schnellen, robusten Autofokus bieten.
