Micro-finance programmes envisage increasing out reach of small financial services throughSelf Help Groups (SHGs) in general and women groups in particular. Since the SHG is asmall and informal group of 10 to 20 persons drawn from relatively homogeneous background,the members who join the groups know what benefits they would attain from the group throughmicro finance. Micro finance has to be utilized in such a way that it benefits the SHGs toimprove the quality of life of their members and if properly implemented would lead to theincrement in income by enhancing member’s productivity and ensuring timely repaymentsand adequate social monitoring. The SHGs need to firm up their financial and economic normsmeant for selection of appropriate beneficiary and subsequent disbursement of credit to theneedy. Hence, there is a need of implementation of schemes for women empowerment whichshould reach them in proper manner, so that the women empowerment will fulfil their aimsand objects. Hope it will be helpful to the readers, researchers and academicians purposefully.
