Rebecca J. Storey’s Sammy Squirrel is an entertaining work about a little squirrel named Sammy. Sammy lives in a pine tree behind Grandpa’s house. They climb and jump and play hide-and-seek. After they are done, they make sure to go eat some more of the sunflower seeds that Grandpa has put out for them and the birds. Sammy has a lot of good friends and a nice home, as well as someone to take care of him. He has a good life.Sammy Squirrel is a piece that tells an entertaining story that aims to show children the importance of taking care of animals as well as the importance of friends.
