Cet ouvrage documente les pratiques et processus actuels des initiatives communautaires en matière de gestion des inondations, en mettant en évidence la manière dont les activités des ONG pour la réduction des risques d’inondation au Bangladesh motivent et influencent les communautés. L’étude s’est concentrée sur les mesures non structurelles de réduction des risques d’inondation, en particulier sur l’impact des projets sur l’influence des communautés pour un développement communautaire résilient aux inondations. L’analyse révèle que la solution à tout problème communautaire réside au sein même de la communauté. Cependant, un soutien extérieur est nécessaire pour sensibiliser les communautés. Des améliorations significatives ont été obtenues grâce à la motivation de la communauté en faveur de la réduction des risques par les ONG, mais de nombreux problèmes négligés réclament une solution immédiate.
