Siamo convinti che il comportamento e l’interazione locale tra i 'gruppi trofici' di questi lignaggi affini guidino la speciazione di questi uccelli terrestri del sottobosco. Siamo inoltre convinti che le sorprendenti somiglianze tra questi lignaggi affini siano dovute al loro 'modo di vita' molto simile e che, di conseguenza, il tasso di speciazione in questi uccelli sia basso. Siamo inoltre convinti che la riduzione e il maggiore intervento dell’uomo sull’habitat saranno determinanti in futuro per la conservazione o l’estinzione di queste specie di Rhinocryptidi e di altri lignaggi affini di passeriformi (ad esempio Formicariidae, Conopophagidae, Thamnophilidae (tipici uccelli formichieri), Atrichornithidae, Grallariidae, Pittidae). Poiché questi lignaggi di uccelli presentano un’evoluzione convergente delle nicchie ecologiche e, inoltre, questi uccelli possiedono un’omoplasia nel modo di vita.
