L’obiettivo di questo studio è analizzare l’evoluzione dei prezzi del Paniere alimentare di base nella città di Giruá, situata nella regione delle Missioni dello Stato di Rio Grande do Sul, tra agosto e novembre 2010, confrontarli con i prezzi di altre città della regione e di São Paulo/SP, confrontarli con il salario minimo nazionale, nonché analizzare i cali o gli aumenti dei prezzi e identificarne i fattori responsabili. Per realizzare lo studio, sono state effettuate indagini mensili sui prezzi in un supermercato di 31 prodotti inclusi nel Paniere alimentare nazionale di base elaborato da Procon a San Paolo, sulla base dei consumi di una famiglia standard di San Paolo. Gli approcci teorici utilizzati per realizzare lo studio riguardano temi quali: il concetto di Paniere di Base, le politiche alimentari e nutrizionali in Brasile, i consumi alimentari in Brasile dopo il Piano Real, il salario minimo, le esigenze dei clienti e le variazioni del mercato.
