Este estudo explora a melhoria das propriedades superficiais do aço macio através do revestimento a laser com pó de níquel-crómio. O revestimento a laser é uma técnica que deposita material num substrato para melhorar as suas características superficiais. Nesta investigação, amostras de aço macio foram submetidas a revestimento a laser com pó de níquel-crómio, seguido de ensaios exaustivos para avaliar as alterações na dureza, rugosidade e resistência ao desgaste. Foram realizados ensaios de dureza para avaliar a melhoria nas propriedades mecânicas da camada revestida em comparação com o material de base. As medições da rugosidade superficial forneceram informações sobre as alterações na textura da superfície após o revestimento, as quais são cruciais para aplicações que exigem acabamentos superficiais precisos. Compreender a resistência ao desgaste é essencial para prever o desempenho do material em várias condições de funcionamento. Os resultados obtidos a partir destas análises fornecem informações valiosas sobre a eficácia do revestimento a laser com pó de níquel-crómio na melhoria das propriedades superficiais do aço macio. Esta investigação contribui para o avanço das técnicas de modificação superficial, com potenciais aplicações em várias indústrias.
