Este livro apresenta uma estrutura de desenvolvimento de requisitos chamada Requisitos Orientados por Domínio (DDR). O DDR é baseado em modelagem conceitual e de negócios para capturar os requisitos do sistema com base no conhecimento do domínio de negócios. O objetivo é melhorar o alinhamento entre negócios e TI usando uma estrutura de Engenharia de Requisitos (RE) que integra práticas de modelagem de negócios com conceitos e práticas de RE. O DDR consiste em diretrizes de modelagem conceitual e de negócios, design de estrutura em termos de descrição de fases e etapas e um exemplo de aplicação que demonstra alguns de seus aspectos e recursos. O exemplo mostra como o DDR pode ser usado para produzir um modelo de domínio conceitual que pode ser usado nas fases de design e implementação usando a abordagem Domain Driven Design (DDD). A estrutura DDR concentra-se nos aspetos de modelagem conceitual e de negócios no contexto da RE. O DDR é um processo plugável, onde outros aspetos da RE podem (e devem) ser adicionados com base nas circunstâncias de cada projeto.
