Die Studie bietet einen Überblick über die Faktoren, die die Entwicklung der Arbeitszeiten beeinflussen, über die Merkmale der Arbeitszeitregelungen und deren wirtschaftliche Folgen. Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit liegt auf der vergleichenden Analyse von fünf europäischen Volkswirtschaften (Frankreich, Deutschland, Niederlande, Schweden, Vereinigtes Königreich) und ihren Arbeitszeitregelungen. Die Untersuchung einzelner Länder ermöglicht es, die verschiedenen Optionen zu verstehen, die Arbeitszeitregelungen bieten können. Empirische Ergebnisse helfen bei der Analyse der Auswirkungen.
