Le présent ouvrage contient une étude systématique sur la réduction des niveaux de THM et de HAA dans l’eau potable. La caractérisation et le niveau des matières organiques naturelles (NOM) dans l’eau potable brute provenant du Nil et leur relation avec la formation de sous-produits de désinfection (DBP) au cours des processus de traitement ont été étudiés. Des échantillons d’eau ont été prélevés dans quatre stations de traitement d’eau potable (Embaba, El-Dahab Island, Fostat et Mostorod) et dans leur système de distribution dans le Grand Caire. Les différents facteurs affectant la formation des THM et des HAA ont été étudiés afin d’optimiser le train de traitement pour réduire le niveau des SPD de désinfection.
