Personen mit höherer Intelligenz werden nicht nur als diejenigen definiert, die in einem Intelligenztest hohe Werte erzielen, sondern es müssen auch andere Faktoren berücksichtigt werden, die den Einzelnen beeinflussen, wie z. B. soziale, umweltbedingte und persönlichkeitsbezogene Faktoren, die zusammen eine begabte Person definieren. Zu diesen Faktoren gehören Angst und psychologisches Wohlbefinden. Angst ist die emotionale Reaktion auf die Wahrnehmung einer Gefahr oder Bedrohung, die durch eine Reihe von Reaktionen im Zusammenhang mit dem kognitiven System ausgelöst wird. Angst ist heute in vielen Gesellschaften anzutreffen und kann daher das psychische Wohlbefinden der Menschen beeinflussen und beeinträchtigen. Kann man behaupten, dass es einen Zusammenhang zwischen dem Intelligenzniveau einer Person und diesen emotionalen Faktoren wie Angst und psychologischem Wohlbefinden gibt? Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist es, die folgenden Variablen zu vergleichen: Intelligenz, Angst und psychologisches Wohlbefinden in einer Stichprobe von Jugendlichen mit überdurchschnittlicher und durchschnittlicher Intelligenz. Die Ergebnisse dieser Untersuchung liefern Beiträge für die Gesellschaft und die Psychologie.
