READ MY SHORTS is a collection of short stories written mostly about the subject of Cowboy Action Shooting, with stories of the Wild West intermingled within the book. Most of the stories can be read in a short time, which makes this book a great traveling companion. Although Mr. Smith’s intent is not to make any political statements, the book can be labeled Politically Uncorrect because he pulls no punches about the way he feels on certain subjects. Far from being a ’tech manual’, Mr. Smith writes from a personal aspect about the fastest growing sport in America called Cowboy Action Shooting. The result is sometimes hilarious and at other times, serious and heart felt. The book is written in easy to read, everyday language and can be read by just about any age group. There is no delineation for race or ethnicity so the book will do just as well sitting in the book rack at a doctor’s office as well as being read around the campfire by a family while on vacation. Since the Wild West and Cowboys are something that are truly an American invention, anyone claiming to be a Great American will enjoy this book and will want to read the stories to themselves, as well as to their children, family, and friends.
